Extremely hard to find Kubasta nativity.
Fine condition un-cut
This is the 1992 second edition of Lidovy Betlém, the first edition was published as a construction cut and paste sheet in 1953. The 1953 edition can also be seen on this website. Both editions are very difficult to find.
The nativity scene is uniquely set in a traditional Czechoslovak farmhouse kitchen

Editions and Publication History: 1953 First Edition: The original "Lidový Betlém" was published in 1953 as a cut-and-paste sheet, allowing users to assemble the nativity scene themselves. This edition is rare and highly sought after by collectors. ( see the original on vintagepopupbooks,com) 1992 Second Edition: A second edition was released in 1992 by Panorama Publishing House in Prague. This version, managed by editor Helena Bradová, was printed by GRAFIATISK a.s. in Děčín. The illustrations were credited to Vojtěch Kubašta, dated 1991, indicating that he revisited and possibly updated the artwork for this edition.

According to the book Pop-ups, Illustrated Books, and Graphic Designs of Czech Artist and Paper Engineer, Vojtech Kubašta (1914 - 1992) by James A Findlay and Ellen G.K. Rubin, "Among the more collectible and rare of Kubašta’s pop-ups are the nativity tableaux. It is estimated that he made fifteen to seventeen nativities including table decorations, greeting cards, and crèches"
The decorative creche sets, some with the stand alone figures are difficult to find with all the pieces. They started out as construction sheets that you put together. The ones that we know about are:
Throughout his life, Vojtěch Kubašta not only produced numerous pop-up paper nativity scenes but also created eight cut-out versions. The rarest among them is the Nativity scene from 1926, which he painted at the age of twelve; this piece is preserved as a cherished family heirloom. His final cut-out Nativity scene was drawn in 1990 for his friends, H. and E. Škod, authors of books he illustrated. The concept of publishing a cut-out Nativity on a magazine cover first appeared in 1939. The magazine Ozvěny featured a simple version consisting of just two parts printed on the front and back covers. Kubašta later revisited cover cut-outs of nativity scenes in the magazine Křesťanská žena between 1951 and 1954.
