The L. W. Walter Company, Chicago was active from 1907 until 1920. History of L. W. Walter Company" Lincoln W. Walterwas president of the Monarch book company since 1893. Monarch was established in 1882 in Beloit, Wisconsin. It started out as a bookseller and then got into publishing. Monarch moved to Chicago and in 1893 and L. W. Walter took over as president. After Monarch's bankruptcy in 1907, Lincoln Walter took over and named the company the " L. W. Walter Co."
