8 hand-colored movable lithograph illustrations operated by tabs/levers at the bottom of pages. Moveables are all original, complete, and all working. Very early Dean movable that uses rivet springs to move some of the pieces - they are also all there, all original, and all working. (8vo) original cloth-backed pictorial boards, advertisements on endpapers Still well bound with original spine cloth and no loose or chipped pages.

This book is part of Dean’s Moveable Book Series Each book in the series had 8 movable plates, Pull tabs that moved 2-3 parts of each image. The size of each was 11 ½ x 7 ½ inches; 285 x 185mm or 9 ¾” X 6 ¾”
They were advertised at the time as "Dean & Son's Series of Two Shilling
Coloured MOVEABLE-FIGURE BOOKS, CHANGEABLE SCENE BOOKS, &o. By a
mechanical contrivance, the principal Characters move and act in
accordance with the incidents of the Story" . Note: According to
old book references from the time you could pay an extra shilling(3s)
for untearable cloth on some of the titles. It is interesting that the
untearable cloth books were more expensive than the moveables.

is also interesting to note that Dean's movable's often varied in
actual titles and covers - the moveable's inside were essentially the
