Contains six movable pictures, each has four fold out flaps to create a different picture.
[24] p., [6] leaves of plates : col. ill. ; 20 cm.
Dimensions: 7 11/16 x 6 11/16 x 3/16 in. (19.5 x 17 x 0.4 cm)
Condition: Complete and working. See photos. Of the 24 "corners" one has been restored. Fly leaf does not lay flat when open, all other pages do.
Very Rare French movable with no other copies found online or in libraries and institutions worldwide.
Collector's Corner:
Guerin Muller published the Dean & Son movable books for the French Market prior to Capendu.
This book is the French version of Dean & Son's surprise picture-book - Punch and Judy with true account of their marriage with surprise pictures. The English version was advertised in several bookseller publications in 1875.
