Collectors Corner: Spain was the first country to publish translations of Disney movable books. Molino was the first publisher of Disney Books in Spain.
Very few copies of the two follow up waddle books to Mickey Mouse were published and, like Mickey Mouse, almost never come with their waddles.
According to Didier Ghez on his Disney History blog “Before the Spanish civil war Molino had been one of Disney's official licensees in the country “(see his article about them in Tomart's Disneyana Update for more information on the subject).
About the author: Carmen Kurtz (1911-1999) Information below was translated from the Wicki Spain article “Biografía de Carmen Kurtz”: "Carmen Kurtz was a renowned writer, known primarily for her children’s stories. She was awarded numerous times for her books and is considered one of the most original and important postwar literature authors – especially for children’s books. Internationally Carmen was a runner up and Spain's official candidate for the International Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1980. The Hans Christian Anderson Award is the most distinguished prize in children's literature and is often referred to as the "Little Nobel Prize."
Also, according to this website, https://archive.org/stream/Boletin_Oficial_Republica_Argentinata ,this book was "printed in Argentina with a press run of only 5,000 copies"
